How do Invisalign Braces work?
Each set of Invisalign braces or aligners are designed to wear for two weeks at a time, with each tray being manufactured so that your teeth will be slightly straighter than the previous tray. Each time you put a new aligner in, the moulded teeth in the tray are slightly straighter than your teeth are, which puts pressure on your teeth and causes them to shift over the course of two weeks (typically moving 1/10mm per aligner). The length of treatment depends on the severity of your case; however, the average case usually takes about 12 months for adults. The length of time necessary for teen patients varies and can be determined by your dentist.
Why choose Invisalign braces over traditional braces?
Invisalign braces can be a great alternative to traditional braces because they have the flexibility to be removed when you eat or drink. The aligners can also be removed to allow you to brush and floss your teeth as you normally would, for fresh breath and good oral hygiene. Invisalign also allows you to view your virtual results and treatment plan before you start the process, so that you can see how your straightened teeth will look after your treatment.
